Established in 2001 Sri Sri Rural Development Program Trust (SSRDP) under the aegis of Art of Living (AOL) operates with the single-minded focus of empowering Rural India. They aim at bringing together the best global practices, corporate thinking and accountability, the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency to create a model of sustainable development, which is a benchmark in the industry and can be replicated at scale.
The SSRDP had a meeting with the Hon. LG Sir in Aug 2021 and got approval to set up a skilling centre in Leh and Kargil. The Leh centre has been established in collaboration with the Jamyang School, Murtse colony, while the setup of the Kargil centre is in progress.
The SSRDP has plans to start imparting training in these centres from summer 2022. There would be two skills being taught for now:
- Solar and Electrical Technician
- Plumbing
The courses would run from April to November and the trainers would be arranged by the SSRDP. Once these courses are imparted, the SSRDP also plans to setup a new centres with focus on the Bakery, and Food Processing trades.
